Digital OPG X-Ray

Dental professionals who require OPG X-Ray for their patients may be presented with the option of a digital or a conventional film. These images are better for diagnosing certain conditions. There are advantages to both and we will briefly cover them here. Both produce a panoramic image but the nature of how the images are taken – the device rotates around the patient’s head – means that film prints are more expensive, though are higher resolution than digital. Distortions mean retakes which adds to the cost for film. Adjustable resolution with digital means more flexibility in focusing on problem areas of a patient’s mouth.
